Health & advice

Tips and guidance from our grooming team.

Before a dog groom

Avoid feeding your dog for at least two hours before their appointment. A short walk first gives them time to settle and go to the toilet. Tell us about health needs, sensitive skin or anything that makes them nervous.

Getting a cat ready

Keep your cat inside for at least two hours before a home visit. Have two towels, a bin bag, a bright secure room and a plug ready. The owner stays with the groomer during the appointment.

Matted coats

Tight mats need careful handling. Please tell us before the visit. We discuss clipping with you rather than pulling out mats, which can cause pain. Extra work may cost more.

Teeth cleaning

Ask the team about emmi-pet sessions and care between visits. If your pet has dental pain or a known dental condition, contact a vet. Salon cleaning does not replace veterinary treatment.
